Paris Mayoral Candidates Ditch the Usual Kiss on the Cheek as Coronavirus Spreads

PARIS—Mayor Anne Hidalgo was on the stump in an outdoor market, seeking a second term, but there was no pressing the flesh with the public—and certainly no cheek-to-cheek kisses.

“I say to Parisians, I would love to kiss them and take them in my arms, but I cannot do it because I need to lead by example,” the 60-year old mayor said on a recent morning.
