China Gets Back to Work While U.S. Extends Coronavirus Shutdowns

Nearly all of China’s major industrial companies have resumed production, the government reported Monday, as U.S. officials signaled that measures to contain the coronavirus pandemic may remain in place for an extended time.

The revival of industry in China, where the new virus was first identified in December, comes two months after a near-nationwide shutdown of factories, workplaces and retail outlets.
